The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and proven leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.<br>The successful candidate will report directly to the Senior Manager based in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Roles and Responsibilities<\/strong><br>\u2022 Responsible for complete internal and external project coordination until the project is completed.<br>\u2022 Ability to do detailed designs of switchyard and MV and HV systems. Knowledge of EHV systems shall be an added advantage<br>\u2022 Knowledge of Protections applicable to MV &amp; HV station feeders.<br>\u2022 Knowledge of Substation Engineering codes, Distribution &amp; Transmission Utility Specifications and Standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS, etc.)<br>\u2022 Preparation and review of Switchyard layouts, erection key diagrams, clearance checks and other detail layout drawings for the AIS up to 220 kV. Knowledge of GIS substations will be an added advantage.<br>\u2022 Conversant with MV Panels, Switchboard formations and SAS systems.<br>\u2022 Ability to prepare complete Technical Specification\/Request for Procurement documents as per project requirements.<br>\u2022 Substation Earthing, Illumination, Direct Stroke Lightening Protection design and layouts for Switchyard and Main control room.<br>\u2022 Knowledge of Transmission line conductor sizing and short circuit force calculation.<br>\u2022 Power Cable (HV and LV) sizing &amp; calculation; Control Cable sizing, Voltage drop calculations, length calculations and cable accessories selections.<br>\u2022 General Technical Parameters, Design Memorandum, Equipment sizing, Design Check lists, and configuration for the MV &amp; HV AIS equipment.<br>\u2022 Sizing battery charger, CT &#8211; VT sizing with knee point voltage calculations, Auxiliary power transformers and auxiliary power supply systems for switchyard.<br>\u2022 Ability to understand scheme drawings for bay Monitoring Kiosks, Local Control cubicles, Control Panel &amp; Relay panel schematics, BOQ and inter-cubicle cabling.<br>\u2022 Ability to do draft pre-dispatch inspection and pre-commissioning test guidelines and review Quality Action Plans for all switchyard and substation equipment independently.<br>\u2022 Selection of Metering equipment, Bay Control Units, IEDs and associated interface equipment and be able to draft the guidelines for the same.<br>\u2022 Able to understand and prepare Software and Hardware interlocking drawing\/ table\/ logic diagram for different types of bay configurations.<br>\u2022 Follow the integrated management system (IMS) and know-how of ISO operational standards\u2019 requirements set by the company.<br>\u2022 Knowledge of Inverter Duty Transformers used in Solar Plants, Solar Duty Power Transformers and Inter-connecting transformers shall be treated as an added advantage.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><br>\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering<br>\u2022 Minimum of 4\u20138 years of progressive, hands-on experience in Substation Design for renewable energy plants<br>\u2022 Previous experience within a Consultancy and\/or EPC environment, with exposure to utility-scale substations and renewable plant pooling stations, is highly preferred<br>\u2022 Exposure to on-site activities for solar plants and switchyard projects will be an added advantage<br>\u2022 Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is essential; working knowledge of ETAP and Dialux tools will be an added advantage<br>\u2022 Willingness to travel and undertake assignments within India and internationally, as required<br>\u2022 Commitment to complying with the organisation\u2019s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and policies<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Remuneration\/Benefits:<\/strong><br>A competitive salary is on offer, based on skills, qualifications and experience.<br>To apply, please send your updated CV in Word format to <a href=\"mailto:info@epafrica.co.ke\">info@epafrica.co.ke<\/a>.
